RELIGIOUS ASPECTS OF MAHA KUMBH MELA HARIDWAR
Maha Kumbh Mela is the largest religious gathering in the world. The Maha Kumbh Fair takes place when the planet Jupiter enters Aquarius and the Sun enters Aries. 

Kumbha Mela is a greatest and rare astronomical event in Hindu religious tradition that takes place at the following four locations of India: 

  1. MAHA KUMBH MELA OF HARIDWAR: It occurs in the state of Uttara Khand where the  Holy River Ganges enters the plains from Himalayas.
  2. MAHA KUMBH MELA OF PRYAG IN ALLAHABAD:  It occurs in the state of Uttar Pradesh

 at the confluence of three Holy Rivers - Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati

  1. KUMBH MELA OF UJJAIN: It occurs in Madhya Pradesh on the banks of Sacred Shipra River and
  2. KUMBH MELA OF NASIK: It occurs in Maharashtra on the banks of Sacred Godavari River.
 

This event takes place four times every twelve years, once at each of the four locations. Each twelve-year cycle includes the Maha  Kumbha Mela at Haridar and Prayag. This event is attended by millions of people from across the world, making it the largest religious gathering around the world. 

THIS MAHA KUMBH PARVA (FESTIVAL) OF HARIDWAR IS VERY IMPORTANT AND SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EVENT. IT IS MOKSHA GIVER AND HAS OCCURRED AFTER 865 YEARS.
